What an energy doctor told me in taiwan that worries me

When me and my mom went to Taiwan we went to this different kind of doctor, he measures the energy in your body and can tell you like anything about it. He took a picture of my hands and feet, a picture of the energy around my finger tips and toes. It looked like a really thick sharpie that bled very nicely. I couldn't completely understand

How... um, something... proven? accepted? is this energy-reading method? It sounds... not particularly scientific? Which isn't to say that I think it's all B.S. because I've done some trippy energy things before, but I'm curious if there have been any studies on how the results of energy tests compare to more conventional medical science.
