My Stardust Melody, Chapter 31

Nov 02, 2012 07:38

Maddie brushed by Reid as he was exiting Luke's room in the morning.  Luke nearly laughed at her outraged expression--her mouth opened and she inhaled so loudly it sounded like she was about to sneeze.  Reid, however, nodded politely and kept going.
Whirling around, Maddie asked, "What was he doing here?"

So, I couldn't sleep. A little RL anxiety will do that to a girl. So, I decided that rather than toss and turn in bed, I got up and checked my email, and THAT is where I saw that you had added a new chapter!

Because of said RL things, I have not had any time to read LuRe lately, so when I saw you had a new chapter, I was excited to have the time to read it. Of course, that's what being up at 4:30 AM allows you!

And it was a great chapter! You write the humor so well, and there were several times I laughed out loud (quietly, so as not to wake my hubby). This:

"Anything else I should know about?" Luke asked. He wondered how many times he'd need to ask this question before he got the entire truth out of his friends.

Henry scratched his chin and replied, "Well, Barbara has been taking Pilates, and it's made her very flexible."

I LOVE your Henry! You have him down pat, that's for sure. And I loved this part...Reid sure knows Henry, doesn't he?

"Sorry, it's just that…well, I know he's loaded, but it seems like Henry ( ... )

I hope the RL anxieties have settled! But I'm glad my little fic was here to help you this morning.

I'd happily write Henry into every chapter, but I'm guessing it would make the bedroom scenes a bit awkward (particularly for Henry). I'm happy he entertains you.

Nathan is a wily one. I'm guessing he'll help bring Maddie around on the subject of Reid.

Thank you!

well, as for Maddie and faith: HOLY one-sided perception.

Sure, Reid has hurt Luke, but he has saved his life and risked his own...even for an angry friend and sister this has to say something...unless they are dumb.

Luke frowned at her, not liking the attitude he was seeing. "He saved my life, Faith. You may not like Reid, but you need to think about the good he's done as well. We might not be having this conversation if he hadn't come after me."

THANK YOU lUKE FOR THAT; THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU!

And thank you Petunia for making Luke see the light and for this wonderful, awkward and adorable Reid of yours and for Nathan's smartness!!!

Oakdale residents really do love to point fingers, don't they? To Faith, I can give a bit of pass due to her youth and a rather black-and-white perception of the world, but Maddie is definitely coming off pig-headed here. For better or worse, we'll see more from her perspective in the next chapter--some of it may persuade you and some of it won't.

Luke is definitely starting to see all the good parts to Reid that he's been missing out on.

Thank you!

Petunia- you do know, it was not a critizism, don't you?
I am aware of Maddie's and Faith's whatever it is works as a trigger for Luke to see Reid in a better light! He starts defending him and it's very in character, that he jumps to Reid's defense eventually :))))

I do know! Sorry if it sounded otherwise. I really think Maddie (and Faith) are over-the-top with their defense of Luke. And yes, it may backfire a bit on them!

Thank you again, my dear!

Yay, another update! So happy that Luke is willing to at least be friends with Reid. Oh, Luke, I love him! And I'm even happier he found out that Reid saved him. *happy sigh*

Faith/Maddie/Henry--uh oh, Reid better watch out. I have to say I love them dearly too for protecting Luke.

Oh, and Damian doesn't deserve a 2nd chance, not here anyway. He's done too much already.

Again, you've written a wonderful chapter with just the right amount of comedy (Babs & Henry's make-out sessions) to balance out the drama of the situation. Great stuff--keep it comin'!

Luke really needed to know that Reid saved him--I can't believe he had to wait a day to find that out.

So, yeah, Reid may have his work cut out for him when it comes to Luke's trio of friends. Poor guy. I don't envy him that.

I agree with Luke so far, too--Damian really seems to have put the last nail in his coffin.

Thank you. The humor in this chapter was a pleasure to write after suffering through all the angst of late.

I can't stand girls who act in packs. (Hehe, holy one-sided perception as Scotianova calls it!) Yeah, probably a schoolyard frustration from a very long time ago... Anyway, Maddie's selfish enough to accept Nathan's invitation. No surprise there.

Now, focusing on something nicer - what will Reid and Luke do, all alone in the hospital on New Years Eve? Hmmmm.... Looking forward to the next chapter. As always!

Poor Maddie isn't getting much love today, but she's brought it on herself. Much to people's chagrin, I'm afraid we'll see a lot more of her in the next chapter. You may just want to picture the sour look on her face when she eventually has to apologize to Reid for being so wrong about him--it might get you through it.

You picked up on the fact that Reid and Luke will be all alone on New Years Eve, did you? Let' just hope Babs and Henry don't decide to visit--that sounds like it might be torture.

Thank you!
