Luke was ecstatic. He had dressed hurriedly in one of the few outfits that didn't have mud or grease stains on it in his closet, and nearly sprinted to his truck to get to Memorial. He threw his overcoat on as he ran to the car. He was late, not that he thought Henry would mind when he told him why.

I love your story, reading it breathless, smiling, feeling the hurt, the joy when Luke is so happy the horses are doing well.. Feeling proud he's got this far.
I love Henry this way.
That after two years, and just one weekend, the men are still having so much feelings for each other... But I think they have a long way to go, before they are getting together, they both are so hurt. (They are getting together, aren't they? ;-))
I love the angst, as long as I trust they will ;-)
So I just wait for the next chapter. I hardly can, but I guess I have to. ;-)
Thank you for this great story!!!!

I'm rather happy that Luke is relatively happy, too (even if he's way too busy). My first outline of this story had Luke in a much harder place at this point, and I just couldn't stand it anymore. So, enter Henry. When Henry was first on the show, he was essentially just a greedy schemer, but they started giving him a heart as time went on. I really loved Henry in his tender moments. Of course, I loved his crazy moments too.
Don't worry about the "happily ever after"--it's coming. I can't stand unhappy endings. I just happen to like a healthy dose of angst between the beginning and end. So yeah, there's a long way to go before the guys get together.
Again, thank you!!

I think I've said this before but you always manage a perfect blend of angst and humor. You had Reid's tongue razor sharp for this chapter. I loved all his barbs. He was throwing them because after two years he is still hurt and now a little bit jealous.
Really enjoyed that last bit with Reid looking at the stars. You gave us insight to what he was truly feeling.
Now who tried to poison the horses?

Who knew Reid would ever be jealous of Hank? I don't know how long I can keep it up, but it's been fun to write. Reid can be such a jerk sometimes, I felt like I'd better include that last scene or people might want to take turns hitting him.
Someone tried to poison the horses? You didn't buy that Luke left some deadly leaves lying around? ;) I guess you'll have to wait and see.
Thank you!
