In Luke's and Reid's apartment. Luke is sitting on sofa with Reid stomping around.
Reid: "No. No, Luke! Just no. I won't do it."
Luke: Why not?
Reid: Really, I have to explain this? Alec was my boyfriend and your brother, and he tried to kill us. What part needs explaining?
Luke: But, Reid, the lesion on his brain may have made him do everything.
Reid: The chances of that being true are zero. Lesions would not cause that behavior.
Luke: Alec's doctors think differently.
Reid: Alec's doctors are Oakdale idiots. They probably got their degrees from the back of a cereal box. Even if it were a possibility, I'd still say no. There's too much risk. If I cut this thing out and he passes a psych eval, he could be out on the streets in a matter of weeks.
Luke: But maybe he should get that chance, Reid. If he could lead a normal life…
Reid: I don't want to take a chance with your life.
Luke: Reid…you're the only doctor who can do the procedure.
Reid: Stop looking at me like that! It won't work.

In operating room.
Reid: Okay, Alec, start counting back from ten.
Alec: 10, 9, 8, 7--
Reid: Why do I feel like a bomb is about to go off?

Emma's farmhouse. Alec sits down across from Luke and Reid at the dinner table.
Reid: Seriously, your grandmother is sitting him across from me at Thanksgiving?
Alec: Oh, get over it Reid. It's not like I'm going to hit on you. You cut the crazy out, remember?
Reid: Only according to the same morons who've let every murderous maniac out of the loony bin.
Luke (grumbling): Maybe I should get my head examined…
Reid: You're siding with him?
Luke: He was willing to cut the hubbard squash.
A/N These scenes and what I post next in this realm are the idea I had for a full-fledged sequel to The Important Parts. I chose not to write it for a variety of reasons, one of which was it being too complicated, so this will be a very boiled down version. I should post the next few scenes in December and I think the last scene in this universe (*sniffs*) sometime in January.
Next week, we'll return to our regularly scheduled programming of My Stardust Melody.
