(Firstly, it seems you're referring more to Islamic culture versus the actual religion, which is a marked difference--that said, when it comes to the culture in Muslim countries, I will wholly concede that they're misogynistic.)
Judges 19, perhaps?
"Nonono, don't take the man to rape! Instead, take his concubine and rape her so horribly that she died by morning. And then her 'husband' will dismember her into 12 pieces and send her body parts to all the borders of Israel so that, boy-oh-boy, the people will learn not to do such a horrible thing again. Despite that I, the one who offered them shelter, made DAMN sure you didn't harm a hair on the man's head."
Not you, but if anyone can't take a book written hundreds and hundreds of years ago, and parse the bits that should be left in the ages of old versus those that aren't so prehistoric/asinine, then you perhaps shouldn't be reading in the first place. Because you obviously lack some critical thinking skills. I mean, I don't care if you eat meat on Fridays or not, don't eat pork because it was once deemed a filthy animal, or if you get Ashes rubbed on your forehead, eat kosher or halal food. None of that matters, because it's what YOU are doing to YOUR body/mind, etc. But as soon as it crosses over to infringing on someone else, or an "honor" killing, then get the fuck outta here. A true adherent to Islam is as benign as Gandhi. (Unless you're England, then I'd havta change my wording slightly.)
And every single one of the Muslims I have met have railed against the backwards things that the Qu'ran. None have echoed the misogynistic teachings. None. Now, are they just speaking carefully so as not to offend me? Most of them that I'm referring to, I know enough about to say that no, not really.
Just because a book says something, does not mean that it is reinforced by those who are supposed to be scholars, or teaching the works. Of course, some of those people might find themselves the targets of violence as they are "infidels/heretics".
