Yay, confidence restored X3

It's been a good day in Japan. You know, it's just one of those days, where good thing after good thing has occurred.

So lately, I've been making a lot of worksheets for classes in school and today we used a menu/ordering worksheet i made for the first years. Yesterday included, I get the sense that the kids are warming up to me and getting used to me, finally, and somehow the feeling of acceptance I get when the students all call me over to help them is really great. Like, they're all so very cute and pure. They're really growing on me, even when they're unhelpfully silent and all clammed up XD;; (only really happens with a few students, and most of them are cute while they freak, so it's okay lol). So anyway, today's classes went pretty well and we had some laughs, too. Just a very smooth lesson plan, which went very well. Afterwards, Kato-sensei (1st year english teacher), even commended me, saying it was a very good worksheet that got the students involved and active, so more brownies points there.

Also, today I had my first adult english class to teach, which I was rather nervous about. It wasn't so much the actual content or the worksheet that had me all nervous, but rather what kind of demeanor and teaching style I should take on, considering that almost all of the students are about twice my age or older (some more than 3 times my age <<;;;). But anyway, I also felt rather accomplished today, having finished that worksheet and graded all the 1st year worksheets (well only one class's worth, since they were the only one that got that far XD).

So then, after that I headed home and got a Taiyaki on the way to the bus. Then, finally the takoyaki place near my home was open! So, I happily went to order and chatted with the owner while I waited and she cooked them right in front of me. I told her i was from the US, and she was all, "oooh no way! I couldn't tell at all!" Which of course is a big ego-stroker X3 So, talking and talking, then at the end she was done. Typically it's 8 takoyaki to one order, but she just kept piling them on, and I thought oh it must be two orders total, because previously I'd stated that I would buy 2, because it would be wasteful to throw them away if no one bought them (turns out that there were some really old ones sitting on the grill that she threw away, but I thought she did that because no one bought them or something, so I offered to buy 2 orders <<;;:). But then, she never really paid attention, and it seemed like she was just trying to shove as many in there as she could. Then she handed them over and refused payment, saying next time XDDDD~

I think I had a totally shocked blank look on my face while I walked away, belated remember to thank her, before the huge grin found it's way to my face XD. So yeah... I got about 20 takoyaki for free <3.

Following this, I just came back from the adult class, and it went relatively great! Of course, could have been a bit better structured, and I could have tweaked things to be a bit better, but it was the first time. I'll definitely remember what I want to change and also add on to fix whatever I overlooked this time to next time's lesson, so I feel confident again. Honestly, I know I can do things, but you still have that niggling sense of, man is it going to be okay? Like, honestly "it went really well and was actually like a proper class" okay?!?!?! And also, I had to make sure that all the different levels were accommodated. I teach the beginners, but really there are different levels there, and some of them I swear actually belong to the middle to advanced level class, but they signed up with me anyway (no confidence???).

Anyway, it's been a great day, and to top it off, I finally downloaded the first episode of chuck and the newest House chapter is in the process of being downloaded as I type. Ah, it's just one of those days (and I know I really shouldn't jinx it, but yeah.) Also, Roli's new MIs are out! :D~ I won't spoil for you fellow rolians, so go check it out~
