[SICK moms!!!]
Well, apparently my mom got herself sick (or well on her way) and started feeling all dizzy today at work. Being the good daughter that I am, I ordered her home and took on all her chores for today: shopping list(Meijer), take out(Logan's roadhouse), & CHASE bank deposit. Had a coupon mishap while self-checking out and had to go to Service to get my $1 off yogurt. Then, I accidentally went to TEXAS roadhouse before heading to the right restaurant. Add in lots of traffic, and some minor directional mishaps, and you've got one hectic day ._.;;
I only managed to get off work 15 minutes early and rushed to get through everything, but I didn't know where a lot of stuff was and traffic was horrible. I get home, and my mom is like "you forgot this!" regarding this vegetable she first wrote in Chinese, and then later wrote the word "Daddy's" somewhere near the Chinese word as she translated the list for me. Unfortunately, during the replication process (I recopied it NEATLY), I noted that in the jumble of Chinese and English, it looked more like "Daddy's bananas" since 'bananas' was written right next to it... Anyway, it's true that the veggie is my dad's favorite, but who would just write "Daddy's" as a grocery item?! I mean wtf...
So, yeah. Busy day, and just got back at 6:30, and finished dinner at 7:00. Figures my mom is all recharged after having a lovely nap (she left ~2:30) and was being her usual obnoxious self. *sigh* Now that she's "sick" I have to go to the lab this weekend again. Note that last week, we were supposed to start shared shifts (I go one day; she goes one day), but she and dad had a luncheon with their long-time friend(from college, apparently), so I had to go both days last weekend. To make up for that, she was supposed to go both days this weekend. So much for luck *sobs*
[Chiropractors]
Well, I went to see a chiropractor recently, because my shoulder/back/neck injury I sustained while taking out the trash one winter day about 2 months ago has yet to heal and is still painfully stiff. Finally, someone telling me it's not my fault and that NO, it's not just because I didn't exercise that it didn't get better(guess what shit my mom was spouting at the time <<;;) and that something was really wrong. Got a spinal scan, and the muscles on both sides spanning from shoulder/neck to my upper/mid back were somewhat inflamed and were pulling on my spine. Also, one of my upper vertebrae, around the base of my skull, was showing signs of inflammation. Explains my headaches.
Yesterday was my second visit and I finally got some massage action~ It was painful but relaxing afterwards, and I finally managed to undress myself with ease!(it's hard to lift my arms above my head; you can hear all the bones/joints cracking from the strain <<;;). Anyway, it's looking pretty good, but I have to be careful with my sleep cycle and other things~ Hope, he can heal me -_-;
[Dreams]
I had this funky dream yesterday and never got to write it down. As most people know, or well for me anyway, dreams are sorta this twisted stream of consciousness, where it goes from act to act following some common thread of thought or shared factor. I remember snippets of the third-to-last "act" but not well, so here's the second-to-last and last acts that I remember.
Dream 1, Act 1-
It started out at this big house, bum's house, and I sense that the house was left over from the previous scene, because it was like I was browsing around the mansion and then bum appeared, and that was the trigger for the idea of "oh, this is bum's house." Now, I've been to Kristina's house, and it was nothing like this mansion, but somehow her presence was enough to label the house as hers. We walked around and it felt like some twisted tour/circus as we looked around, and at some point we even met her "dad". I say "dad" because it wasn't her dad specifically, but more like this shaded blurry figure that represented the idea of her father... Just like how the house wasn't really kris' house, but I thought it was because she was there; the man wasn't really her father, but took on that role because Kris was there (that's the sense of what I felt anyhow; and at least he was African American, because damn that would have been weird if it was some random asian guy that was my distant relative from china or something...)
So, anyway we were at the mansion, and after kris' dad appeared, there was some commotion and then suddenly we were in a room where half of it was completely enclosed like a jail with bars and everything, and I remember that kris' brother was trapped in there with a lot of different game consoles, a computer, and some other creature comforts as well as necessities to live. I remembered that we tried to console him that he had everything he needed to survive and even had entertainment; and there was a certain sense that we were the ones that incarcerated him, but that our commitment of the action was blurry and wasn't shown or was sped through. There was also a sense of, "this is what you get" in response to some possible bad behavior.
Dream 1, Act 2-
This transitioned in a blur of images into act 2, in which suddenly kris and I were in a city of some sort, which at some point in time, i imagined was ann arbor, but the rest of the time was just some nameless big city. Here's the catch though. We were running from dinosaurs. I don't mean like we were being chased; it was more like Jurassic park 2(was it 2?) when dinosaurs got on the mainland, but on a bigger scale and more long term. It was this kind of scenario we were in, where dinosaurs had somehow appeared a while ago (maybe weeks or months ago), and people were trying to cope. You saw the mess that the city had become. People were considered lucky to just have cars and carried everything on their backs in the mass panic for survival, as cities were trampled.
As for specific scenes- I remember that at some point kris and I were looking for my car and we were having problems finding it in the parking structure(stolen?) and then we ran into some small dinosaurs (and I think random human body parts), and we ran for it. Later, there was this scene were people started freaking out and a T-rex was seen tearing an entire building in half and people were scattering like ants. Kris and I were running like hell, of course. Then, I woke up.
Dream 2-
This morning, I vaguely remembered some of my dream as well. It was actually pretty interesting, but too bad I can't remember the important parts.
It was something to do with a quest or a test of some sort. Makes me think a bit of the triwizard tourny from Goblet of Fire, with the magic, mystery, and danger. Sometimes, I was alone, and sometimes, I had help. But the test was centered around numerous stoppered glass vials that contained some sort of colorful liquid/sand concoction, each located in a different(and oftentimes magical) place and each a different color(I remember one was a swirly gray-silver). I think sometimes I had to find the vial, and othertimes, I already had it with me(that or my dream-self skipped over the findings), but each time, I had to make the liquid/sand do something before I could move on. One time, I remember solving a riddle and rolling the vial while lying in a specific bed to get the liquid to crystallize into a row of spheres, but I can't remember if they were all supposed to crystallize into spheres or do different things.
This is because at the end, when I was in the last place(some sort of final stage), a half-sunk ship which was rather dark in places and as confusing as a maze, they had returned to their original forms. This is either because they shifted back when I left or my dream mind had forgotten that they'd changed in the first place. I could really feel the tension and the dark atmosphere in the last place, and I distinctly remember feeling like I was running out of time. In fact, there was someone there to help me and we shared the panicky feeling. It was something to do with inserting each of the vials into this circular stone/protrusion(?) that had little circular slots for each one. And I think the panicking was because I was getting lost and couldn't find the last vial or something.
Anyway, I have fond memories of this dream, because thinking about it, it was really like an RPG(like kingdom hearts!) and not all of it was a boss battle. There was one really peaceful, beautiful coast that I visited one time. So lovely and warm <3
In any case, it's good to know that I still dream in color, figuratively speaking. I hope I never outgrow such colorful dreams, because I think adulthood will finally sink in with a dull thud if I ever lose the creativity that lets me dream like that ._.;; I mean, seriously. Wouldn't that be sad?
