Dear Yuletide Santa person
I have never done this before! I'm finding it quite exciting. If anything is not quite in the expected format that would be why. IMO I've erred on the side of precision in the requests and here, because it's better to have too precise than too vague a starting point, but you can throw all that out the window if you want. XD I would much rather know that you had fun writing whatever it is, you're a doll for getting me something to begin with.
You can probably get a pretty good sense of who I am and what I like by nosing about on my LJ and following the tags. XD; Or, more specific links if you prefer to cut to the chase:
My requests (the expanded version - good grief this is more detail than I'd give myself for writing XD;):
Nana: First choice would be Ren/Shin - I ship Ren/Nana O. and Reira/Shin, but the manga sets up the possibility of a Ren/Shin oneshot and I find that intriguing. Second choice would be a piece focussing on Nana O. in her "England years", bonus if you could get stuff from the real life '04-'06 UK indie rock scene in there. Any other pairing combinations of those characters also fine (plus Nana K. and Takumi - didn't include as only allowed 4), or gen/friendship. More into realistic character development than fluff, crack comedy, or super-angst.
I'm a huge music fan, so that informs my understanding and love of Nana-the-series a lot (see FSTs above). Usually I am not the kind of fangirl who is humourless about OTPs and A-must-be-with-B-or-I-will-cry but I am beyond PO'd at what happened to Ren and Nana!! err although I will live I suppose. But if you are going to have drug use in the story pls to hew closer to reality than Yazawa-sensei does. XD;; I have love for all the members of both bands plus Hachi, but it drops off from there on out - that core cast and their canonical travails/relationships are really what I'm interested in. Emphatically not into dissing Reira for her relationship with Ren taking him away from Nana (or taking Takumi away from Hachi - or vice versa), or any such nonsense.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Would seriously love an in-character, canon-feel Batou/Motoko story. No option for Motoko femslash here but would love that as well. Moar sex is awesome but don't sweat that if it's not your thing. Gen in the form of politics, gunfights, technogeekery, incomprehensible philosophizing on the nature of cyberspace and the soul etc. also a-ok. Other characters are cool too, just that Motoko and Batou are my faves and I'm not a big fan of m/m in this particular fandom.
I think the second GitS TV series is one of the best anime works of the decade, no joke, and Motoko is the hottest female character bar none. I expanded on her and what I liked about the series here, which is good as I don't have to write it down all over again. XD; Re: f/f options, the series does lay on the saabisu so run with any of that, I particularly like the Prime Minister of Japan (ahaha so awesome). Re: Kuze, tbh I thought that plotline was really sweet/sad and bought it ttly. What else... you can assume I'm familiar with every variant of the GitS universe (movies, manga, etc.), so if you want to write in the Innocence rather than the SAC continuity by all means go ahead.
Withnail and I: Post-movie Withnail/Protagonist, WAFFy happy ending if you can swing one although in-character feel is more important (I would characterize the canon tone as "uncomfortable comedy"); just, no worst-case scenario victim-of-the-60s drug-casualty death and destruction if you catch my drift. XD; Example plot: Withnail attends the opening of Protagonist's play.
I just dug up my thumbnail review of this from January and it said "would make a good 'Yuletide fandom' if it isn't one already", ahaha. Though if we were matched on Withnail that is for enharmonies really (I am also a fan but she went to take in Paul McGann's play in London - btw we are Doctor Who fans though we haven't seen much of the older series, if you're able to do something with that then you basically win the universe and a TARDIS to travel it in). She is like me only shorter and surlier but conversely more hung up on mushy happy endings. ♥
