Saturday Photo Hunt: DAYDREAM

Jun 27, 2013 01:17

I was so busy with all the last-week-of-school stuff that I never posted a Saturday Photo Hunt picture, though I had it all picked out and waiting.

Well, school has ended. My son has graduated from elementary school and is looking forward to sixth grade at the middle school after a blissfully homework-free summer. My second term as a PTA Vice President is over, and I'm suddenly finding I have a little more time, now that I'm not planning Family Fun Nights, running a kids' art contest, begging for volunteers, or creating extravagant display case dioramas about children's books.

That will change in a week or so, when my son is not in a summer day camp and needs to be entertained. Or at least supervised. So maybe I'd better get this posted now!

The Saturday Photo Hunt theme is DAYDREAM. This was an interesting theme that I could have taken in several directions. I've chosen a photo of a daydreaming statue at St. Louis Cemetery #1, the oldest cemetery in New Orleans, Louisiana. At least, it looks to me like she's daydreaming. What do statues dream about, I wonder?
