Title: I Don't See The Scar
Rating: G
Genre: Gen
Word Count: 222
Pairings or Characters: Heidi, Peter
Summary: Heidi reflects on Peter
Notes: 5YG/String Theory Verse

When Peter looks in the mirror, he sees the scar he got from pulling himself back together after the explosion. It's a psychological scar more than anything; he could heal it but he chooses not to, it's there as a reminder of his failure, of how many people died by his hand.

When Heidi looks at him, she doesn't see the scar. She sees the cute goofy boy who accepted her into the family when others wouldn't, her partner in crime who kept her entertained during Nathan's boring society dinners and the person who actually acknowledged her when she was confined to a wheelchair.

“I’m going out,” Peter says to her as he grabs his jacket.

Heidi sits up on her knees and looks over the back of the couch at him “Be careful.”

He gives her a small smile, she’s one of the only people who can make him smile now days and a nod “I will.” He turns invisible before her eyes and heads out.

Heidi sighs and looks over to the photo of Peter and Nathan that stands on the table. She picks it up and smiles “It’s hard being a sister to your brother.” She whispers and kisses her finger, placing the kiss on Nathan’s face.

Hard yes, but at least he’s not alone, they have each other.
