Thanksgiving weekend....

This weekend wasn't super awesome, but I shouldn't really complain since others probably had worse... Joel's aunt, uncle, and cousins with various friends came over for thanksgiving. That was sort of blah since they don't speak to me.. It's not that they don't like me, I think.. I get along well with the Brenda and Drew (aunt and uncle), but the cousins seem to avoid me. I think Joel intimidates them. I was mostly lonely for my family, wishing I was visiting them. Friday was okay I guess, I had to work at one, so I watched the Iron bowl at work. Roll Tide!!! Then today I went to a wedding, which also has me grr. It seems like we only go to weddings with controversy. At the last one, Joel's army cousin Clint was marrying his girlfriend who happened to have cheated on him 6 monthes ago while he was in Iraq. I think the reason for the controversy is easy to tell. Today's wedding was Dustin's. He's the son of Joel's family, His dad also happens to be Joel's boss. There has been so much drama between Dusty and his family because of his now wife. He is 20, while she is only 18. Neither have jobs, and he is already whipped badly.. The reason I bring this drama up, even if it has nothing to do with me, is that the wedding I attended was made up of a kind of depressing exchange of vows, and a reception of insults behind the bride's back along with many people who were wishing they were watching the florida game instead..... I can understand why many are against this wedding, but at the same time, Why ruin their day? If they are going to fail, according to you, why not let them have this one day of happy memories? Meanwhile I am contemplating my own wedding, I think I've decided to get a courthouse marriage. Why spend all that money on a wedding, when I only have a max of 15 people to invite. It's too much work in my opinion. But i think my recent wedding experiences might have me thinking negatively too....

Oh well, At least I have books to read... I just finished six books by J.R. Ward, btw thanks april :), but I'm sure I can round up something
