Canseco has been selling off chunks of his jewelry on E-Bay for a while. One of his Yankee ALCS rings was up over the winter, I think, and there's a listing of all of his rings up here. Some of them are for sale, and others apparently aren't. It's also kinda weird that the ring on e-bay is also listed on the website for $1000 more it's going for on E-bay, but man.
It might be Canseco's fault that he's in financial straits. It might not be the case that he's in financial straits at all, but man, oh man, is there any other single item that a living ex-player could sell and make make a sadder point about lost promise and the transience of baseball glory than his Rookie of the Year ring?
