*is helplessly, helplessly, helplessly in loveI mean, yes. I know what the broken hand does to Yankee postseason. I've developed a healthy hatred for Torii Hunter, and the hots that I have for Joe Nathan are on permanent hold until we whup the living snot out of the Twins for the next two games. My stomach is already churning for tonight, but oh ( Read more... )

When I read that story in the Times this morning, I thought of you and how you'd love that quote! In all truthfulness, I did, too. See, I can't stay mad! I'm so horribly forgiving. Except if he fucks up tonight I will turn into the unforgiving bitch again. So unless he wants to provoke my wrath, he'd better pitch his ass off!

I have to say I'm eerily calm about this game tonight. I have a good feeling about it for some reason. I'm not sure whether that's a good thing or not.

Brownie did pretty fucking good tonight -- sure, he had a lot of baserunners, and he didn't K a lot of people, but what with all the talk about Posada trying to get Brown to throw his sinking fastball for groundouts rather than his rising fastball for Ks, it's exactly what I expected and MORE THAN I HOPED FOR. ONE RUN THROUGH SIX!!! And him sitting in his alclove with his head down and trying to concentrate between innings, and that odd tense walk of his that made me worry if his back was seizing up on him.

And now, the craptastic bullpen is in. Thanks!

*sings* I think I'm in love...

Again. So yeah, Brownie was amazing. He may have had lots of baserunners and not many K's, but 1 run is pretty fricking awesome. I have to say I really love his intense demeanor when he pitches. I'd missed seeing him so effective like that.

As for the bullpen, well, I'm not exactly sure what dirt Heredia has on Torre, but it must be something huge for him to keep giving Heredia chance after chance like that. Honestly, if he insists on having a lefty specialist, why not a lefty who can get it over the plate and record some outs? Like Halsey. Bah. But what do I know? At least we won. Bringing in Mo in an 8-2 game, though? ahd;k,:dn''jhgf

Felix Heredia has to have photographs of Torre offering the popcorn lady money if she'd let him have sex with one of those squirt bottles of fake butter.

Either that, or like, wearing Red Sox undies.

Because I have NO FUCKING CLUE what else that man is doing on the team. And, I mean, like you said. Brad Halsey, hello? With that pretty, pretty splitter of his? Yeah, I can understand Torre wanting a lefty specialist, and I know that Halsey has the makings of a good starter someday, but lefties are batting .143/.212/.462 against him.

Granted, it's in limited exposure to lefties, but it has to be better than the fucking Run Fairy.

And yeah, I woulda far, far, far preferred not bringing Mo in, but what are you gonna do? And it's not like we're going to need him tomorrow, are we, what with Jome Run Javy starting against Suprefreak Santana.

Tanyon, I dunno what that was all about, but I won't hold it against him. He kept us in that game Wednesday. I'll put all the blame on Run Fairy, as always.

Hahaha, I call him "Home Run Javy" too, except I wasn't witty enough to come up with the "J". Anywho. But hey, Santana's never gone on short rest before. And he wasn't very sharp Tuesday night to begin with. And maybe Javy will do well enough to keep us in it. You never know. But I am confident in a Moose vs. Radke match-up in a Game 5 if necessary.
