Beautiful, beautiful and sad, my god woman, my heart, it bleeds. There's so much feeling here, from Joan, and it's so--well, heartbreaking but appropriate. There's depth there--"She’s not impenetrable, you know" was probably my favorite line. Because people/writers are so quick to write her off as such, and she is obviously not.

Beautiful work, darling, just beautiful. Thank you. :)

I really enjoyed this fic. I think this line perfectly sums up their whole relationship both on the show and in your story: “I was wasting my time with some goddamn bimbo and you’re off with Doctor Dickless Ken doll and I just thought-why? It doesn’t make sense. We make a team, Red.”

She breaks my heart utterly and so does this, with Roger *there* for her in ways that make sense from the wrong point of view, or maybe the right one. Beautifully done, perfectly spare. You use all those lines like a scalpel.
