I love how you're developing Jack and Ennis's feelings for each other :) This was a wonderfully sweet chapter. Love their thoughts on each other too :)

Love the gorgeous images of both of them on horseback :) You write that beautifully. What I also really loved was Jack singing, that's so sweet. And aw, how I loved Ennis waking up with Jack in his arms and looking at him the way he did *happy sigh* and I adored him spontaneously running his hands through Jack's hair :) These lines were gorgeous:

He had never seen anyone as handsome as Jack Twist but he knew now that it wasn’t just the twinkling blue eyes or the sparkling smile that made him so. It was those things that you couldn’t see by looking. It was his courage and his kindness and the sweetness that let him share someone else’s burdens and sorrows when he had enough of his own.

Ennis dared to reach out brushing the hair off Jack’s forehead, letting his hand continue on to gently caress his cheek. Then leaning forward, his face in Jack’s hair he breathed deep taking in the musky scent of sweat and grass and horses.

“Beautiful.” He whispered.

Charlie is a good guy, right? I don't think I have to worry about him knowing?
I loved the mention of Juniper trees! A bit strange maybe, LOL, it's a personal thing!
Rounding cattle is hard work! And what's a cavvy?

This is such a sweet, lovely story :) I love the slow build-up and the way you're writing all of it. Thank you! Looking forward to more, as always. And thanks so much for updating so fast!

Thanks for the comments as always. I'm glad you liked Jack singing. I debated about whether to include that but as singing to the cattle was a common activity I decided to go ahead.

The boys are in no danger from Charlie. When he said he'd "been cold a time or two himself" he was basically saying that he had indulged in some activity with other men to "stay warm" on occassion and so he wasn't going to judge Ennis for doing the same. He believes what a man does with his pecker (as he put it)is a private matter.

A cavvy is a group of four or five horses that are assigned to each man during the roundup. These are the horses he would switch between so as not to tire any of them too much.

I glad you are continuing to read and still enjoying the story.
