I know this is a very self-serving blog, but after the week I had and being told of my general uselessness I need this so if you dont want to read it dont.
Ten things I love about me:
1. I love my freckles. As I love to say, A face without freckles is like the night without stars. But I love mine especially. I love the few scattered ones on my bottom, I love the one I cant see because it is hidden by my left breast (because I know it is there even if I cant see it), or the one on the side of my finger that my mom thought was chocolate and always tried to scrub off, but there are two that are my favorite and they only came to be in the last 5 years or so- The one on the left hand side of my upper lip (right in the middle of all the pink lipiness) and the one on the second to last toe on my left foot. Its my God tattoo
2. Speaking of God tattoos I LOVE my birth marks. The one on my left ankle has been referred to as many things- a cross, a ghost but to me it has always been Mindys Island. My brother has made a permanent mark on it when he slammed my foot in the screen door and it never grew back in color- Benjamin Lake the emptiness is known as. And then there is the big rectangular one on my left arm that looks like Colorado as seen from a plane window.
3. Speaking of God, I love Him and my faith in him (and let us not forget Jesus Christ). I adore the fact that, though I was raised Christian, I questioned it and then came to God of my own free will. Even more so, I love that the people around me are not threatened by my religion. Both friends and strangers have mentioned my approachability and lack of accusatory judgment on the matter- so much so that have witnessed to people, but because they have come to me and asked me questions about what it is I believe. People see the kindness of my heart and want to know where that comes from. People that are people of God (and I mean truly. Not just saying the words and going through the motions) have a light that just shines from the inside out. I like to think that people may see that in me
4. I love my brain. God blessed me with the ability to think and question and, while ignorance is truly bliss, I am thankful to be unblissfully aware. If you see things for what they truly are you can change them for the better. Intelligent conversation is my BIGGEST turn on and Im glad that I can interact instead of sitting there being aroused by smarts.
5. Another thing I look for in people that surround me and something I see in myself is a well-developed sense of humor. Sure, I tend to be sarcastic in my humor but Im also witty and have a good sense of delivery. Although I do totally dig on the occasional Pirate joke. Okay, I love every Pirate joke and will spend hours making new ones, but this isnt the extent of my humor.
6. Speaking of friends, I love them. I love that I picked them for mine and that they all have some kick ass qualities. I enjoy that, on more than one occasion, I have been the glue in certain circles that holds them together and that pretty much everyone I know feels that they can come to me when they need something.
7. For the first time in my life I am finally loving on my body. I think I may have possibly been more trim when I was seeing Goose, but it seems when I am in self-deprecating relationships (why do I repeatedly do this?!?!) I life most everything about my self less. In the last week or so I have noticed that I do, in fact, have a butt and, if I may say so myself, just about the nicest rack I have ever seen. Hooray for boobies! And my biggest disappointment, my tummy, really isnt as big as my brain likes to tell me it is.
8. I think my hair is gorgeous hmmm. On second thought, it all fell out once, so lets not tempt fate. Oh! My floating eye! I love that it would scare the poop out of preppy brats. Granted mom did pay thousands of dollars to have it fixed, but I love that Eyeball said f**k that. And will float anyway whenever he feels like it. Which is usually when Im influenced or tired.
9. I love my spirit almost as much as I love my brain. I think I generally have good motivations behind the things I do. Better still, I do what I do right and for the benefit of others. I do end up getting a little screwed from time to time thinking of others first, but I am glad I do it anyway. It makes me happy to see others happy, so really you could consider me a selfish bitch when I do things for others =+)
10. Ill stop here. Promise. Enough self-lovin. The last thing I want to say is I love my kitties. And I love that I raised them from little mites. It gives me some consolation that maybe, somewhere down the line, If I was to produce or adopt children I wouldnt mess them up too much
Go me.
