My computer is sick...
My computer is throwing a major hissy fit, so I might be disappearing from lj etc for a while if it continues.
Just now I went to turn it on, but all it did was start up the fan it seems, the HD did nothing. So I tried to turn it off by pushing the button, and no response, so I had to turn it off at the wall. It did this a few times, so I decided to open it up & see if something was loose...so I cleared a space on the desk to open it up etc & decided to try one more time, and it worked. Maybe the fear of an operation convinced it to behave..
Anyway, the fact it did that is a bit of a worry, so if I disappear for a bit, that's probably why. I can't afford to have it fixed either (it has other problems too-like randomly turning itself off whenever it feels like it), so I just have to keep my fingers crossed it doesn't happen again..
Anyone have any idea what could be wrong? -hardware/software/incomptence of user (lol)/other?
We have had a few power cuts lately, but we have a surge protector, and the computer wasn't on during last nights power-out.
