Also, apparently a love-fest with hyphens. But I digress.
Another weekend, another fabulous performance on the part of my cute boyfriend. In my defense, I did go visit him for a bit of midweek support this week...that's got to count for something, right? And so it was that we found ourselves waking up in Mississippi together Friday morning, going to our respective laboratories, and then getting reunited a scant 12 hours later in Alabama. We went out with some med school kids, which was pretty fun, especially since it included a mango margarita. But next time I'm totally ordering the strawberry pina colada that Angela had, because it looked awesome. Anyway, then Phil came over and played with my lion while we watched one of those haunting shows on TV and I broke stuff in the kitchen. Fun times, fun times.
Saturday we went to the LMB party (science nerd BBQ). Canadian BBQ sauce, just for reference, is not spicy. Even the spicy kind. Corn casserole, however, is. And bean paste cookies taste much much better than they sound. Beyond that, we got inspired by Jon's kiddie pool, so the trip to Wal-Mart netted us a Paradise Lagoon of our very own. And a compressor with which to inflate it, among other things. So we chilled in the pool and drank alcohol and life was good. Generally, I think the kiddie pool is much more fun as an adult than it was as a kid. ;)
Saturday was fun day so Sunday was work day, and boy did we work. Between the two of us, we: did my glass/bead project (actually that was late Saturday), reorganized the former nursery, unpacked my winter clothes, finished the drapery for my bedroom, mowed the grass, hung several pictures on the wall, did 3 loads of laundry, and put in an adorable Sago Palm in it's own adorable rock-adorned bed. I hosed off Todd before I'd let him in the house, and he retaliated by tossing me in the Paradise Lagoon whislt I was fully clothed. We also went to the national ice cream appreciation day celebration at Cammie's Old Dutch Ice Cream Shoppe, which was quite good...next time I vote for the chocolate marshmallow royale though. Dinner from Hungry Howies, and a little bit of relaxation in the pool rounded out the evening. Then Todd tried to die on me, so that was scary. And he didn't sleep, so that sucked. But aside from that, a fantabulous weekend.
Now, abstract due tomorrow (done-ish). Poster due Monday (not even close to done). Next Wednesday is my last day of lab work. Next Friday is Research Day. And then vacation! And then...med school. Eep!
