BIG BANG ARTS : June Rec'
My first rec' ! You know me, as a fan artist, there was no way I was going to tell you about fan fictions. I will recommend you here what are, I think, in MY opinion, (YMMV of course, etc, etc, etc...
) the best arts of this Big Bang 2010. Enjoy and don't forget to leave a comment on the artists' Art Post if you have the time. They all deserve it even the ones I didn't listed below.

Incredible illustrations with a fantastic use of textures (Feyuca said she went "texture crazy" but don't listen to her, it's perfect). Her art reminds me of illustrations for children books (but her style isn't childish!!!), where the big bad wolf seems to be hidden behind every tree. No big bad wolf here but sexy crossroad demons, and of course, Sam & Dean.

The whole Winchester family and Jimmy Novak sitting on the Metallicar. How can we resist ? I am sure you will fall completely in love with her version of young!Sam, he really looks like Jared as a kid with his puppy eyes and his cute round nose.

Do we still need to introduce Daunt's works ? If you don't know her drawings, go and see her illustrations for Supercross. She's one of the only artists to work exclusively in B&W and use Manga Studio where the majority of the fandom works with Photoshop. Very dynamic illustrations, great use of digital screen tones, perfect mecha-design of the bikes.

Artists who draw in a realistic style are rare. Artists who draw in a realistic style using the Photoshop dry brushes are an exception. Don't hesitate to check out Starry_ice's art, it looks like a book cover for a novel. Everything is perfect, the composition of the picture, the palette, Dean's face. A post "made of win" as the people say on the Internet.

A style that seems simple and minimalistic but don't let this simplicity fool you : there is nothing more difficult than drawing characters with only a few pen stokes and make them immediately recognizable. A great coloring technique too, very edgy and "arty". Not your "usual fan fic art" but definitely an amazing result.

A very interesting mix between photo manips and paintovers that creates at the end a unique hybrid style where you don't even know where the photo starts and where the illustration ends. Bonus : the J's together joking and drinking a beer are definitely cute.

An hilarious and technically incredible illustration of the J's that imitates the style of Time Magazine. The artist even copied the magazine layout and wrote a whole article!! Closer than the kind of things you would find hung in the MoMa than the usual Spn AU fan art but still, a must see.

If you like dark atmospheres, angst and monsters that are ready to jump on the Winchesters, this one is for you. Black and white illustrations made with markers, with just little touches of color. Fantastic style for people allergic to cuteness and big starry eyes.

Illustrations and well done photo manips far from the "head pasted-on effect". If you've ever wanted to know what Jensen would look like with long hair "à la Alexander Skarsgård True Blood S1", just click on the link, it's hilarious. This is how Jensen is described in the fic at the beginning but still, kudos to the artist for having the idea to give us this unique vision of Alex..hum..of Jensen with long golden locks.

A pure shojo manga art style with a long eyelashes Jensen full of freckles. Because we all need something cute from time to time. Supernatural fan arts can't always be about horrible monsters (no ? really ? Oooooh.....

One of the only artists so far to use China Ink and watercolor. Beautiful and dark representations of Sam & Dean surrounded by black arabesques and chains (no, it's not SM...). For people who love the creepiest part of Supernatural and not just the samanddeanmoments... Semi-abstractness at its best.

Here again, don't expect cute shojo manga style. We are completely in something conceptual made of superpositions, mental trips inside the characters' head, demons, and hideous creatures ready to kill you without mercy. Completely abstract and experimental. Definitely not for everybody (your are going to love it or hate it, no other alternative) but very interesting.

Second rec' for Bittersweet who definitely knows how to give the viewers a good mix between manips and illustrations that includes, at random, a beautiful Jared (still hot with or without an halo above his head) , a funny Jensen's business card and ,the cherry on the top of the cake, a map of the Hell Subway System (yes, there's a subway in Hell) that will help you find your way whether you want to ride the Tribute to the Smiths Line or the Disney Princesses Line. Still want to go to Heaven ?

Daunt again and this time...in color! Surprising illustrations from someone who is more into black and white. Sport have inspired the lady who brings us once again, after her work for Supercross, a great series of drawings in her immediately recognizable style. In addition, and as I told her in her post comment, "nobody draws Jared's ass like (her)" because the art of Jared walking into the sun justifies the visit to her page alone (and this comes from a Dean!Girl folks...

Too bad that there's only one illustration because this drawing of Dean and Castiel really makes you want to see some more. Great mix of black and white and color enhanced by a very original typo très graffiti. For the old ladies like me, it will even reminds you of "Pump up the Volume".

Very often, artists choose between CG and traditional. Odysseaia brings us both with an amazing series of illustrations that borrows elements from both comics and mangas. You will certainly fall in love with her wonderful portraits of Psychic!Sam exorcising a demon and Dean smiling in the Metallicar. Very good choice of textures too ♥
