*twirls in, particularly cheerful today for no reason; which is as good a reason as any, for Adele* Salut, messieurs et madames!
I believe that I do not write very often enough in this journal! I should write here oftener, so as to record all the grand things that I do during the days. For instance, *pauses to count* eight days ago I travelled up to the *okay, wow, typist was definitely just about to write "attic." typist needs to remember her Jane Eyre canon. aaanyway...* into a very old room in M. Rochester's house, a very old study I think, and found such curious things! Such as a musical box with a ballerina! Oh, it is awfully precious--if M. Rochester should allow it, I shall keep it in my room and listen to it every day! I should like to go with Peter or Alice or another of the children (although perhaps not Mlle. Rhoda, for she is slightly peculiar) back to that room, to look for some more treasures.
And today my dear typist gave me some chocolat, and it tastes so very delicious. I took great care in eating, however, so as to not ruin my new dress. *spins once more, slowly, to show off the blue satin* I love it so very much! One of the guests of M. Rochester said that I am the most beautifully dressed little girl he has seen. ^_^ I should think so, for M. Rochester always finds the finest gowns for me--! I do like Mlle. Alice's dress--it is blue, like this one!--but the rest of the little girls I see here wear such very plain clothing.
*opens a box* I have twelve more pieces of chocolat. Should anyone care to try it? :)
