Many of us walk through fog, every day of our lives. Why? Because it makes us happy, because although our eyes are shut, blinded from truth, and we cannot see clearly the path ahead of us, all that matters is that deception feels less painful for us.
Amazing how one moment can change everything.
One realization. One truth. One decision. A decision to defy all that is good, just and right, in order to have one minute second of happiness or pleasure.
Yes, we realize that such horrors surround us every day, in our world, to other less fortunate persons than ourselves...
But what happens when the clouds part, and the sun comes out for a brief moment shedding light on the true nature of a situation?
And we suddenly realize, that the horror, is occuring closer to us then we may have recognized at first. Ironic, how a different viewpoint and clearer skies, can change prospective.
And yet, the most difficult part in the end for those of us deceived, is the feeling of betrayal....Yes, the very thing we used as shelter from the storm is our foe, and the ultimate cause of our pain.
So we ask ourselved this question: Is the protection offered by ignorance worth the price in the end?
No.
But as in all things, there is a flip side to every situation....
we may ask, what about protecting our children and sheltering them?
The love for one's child is something only one who has experienced parenthood can understand. A sense of intense protection overcomes a man or woman the moment the first cry sounds in the hospital room.
But, at a certain point when the deception we have tried to protect them from and ourselves has caused ultimate pain, what must we do?
Because although truth can be equally or more painful, it is truth. And we must accept it and embrace it.
~As you may have guessed, this issue is something of personal reflection and concern as of late and I have been praying diligently about it everyday.
Please keep my family in your prayers, although you do not know the specifications, the prayers you offer during a trying time would be much appreciated.
