"All right! Since everyone is here, let's go get food! I'm starving!" she exclaimed to everyone. She looked around them for a moment and found a ramen booth a little bit away.

"Noodles! I want noodles!" she decided out loud and grabbed Renji's wrist. "Come on!"

Byakuya quietly followed, the bunny still sleeping quietly on his shoulder.

He watched Rukia grab Renji's wrist. His mouth twitched again.

He was going to have his arm pulled out if its socket by the time the night was over.

"Is it entirely necessary to haul me around like this?" Renji muttered as he was jerked toward the ramen stand. His eyes travelled to the stand next to the one they were at.

Taiyaki.

Score.

He slipped away from Rukia and headed over to that booth.

Out of the corner of his eye, Byakuya spotted a familiar head of orange hair.

"Rukia," he said. "Is that Ichigo?"

Rukia instantly looked around and squinted.

"Oh it is!" she said excitedly. She waved at him like a maniac. "OY ICHIGO! ICHIIIIIIIIIIIGO!"

Ichigo sighed and waved back. "Yo. THERE. I'm in a yukata even. HAPPY?" He joined up with the group, a bit late, as a few things back home delayed him. "So, what's up?"

Rukia was taken aback for a second. She had never seen Ichigo in a yukata.

"W-well don't you look nice," she said in a voice she hoped came off as teasing and mocking. "We're eating! I'm getting nooooodles!"

Byakuya moved to stand next to Ichigo as Rukia ran off.

"She thinks you look nice, Ichigo," he said to the boy, voice slightly amused before following Rukia.

Renji finally followed along after them, a couple taiyaki piled in one hand and one dangling from his mouth.

He really didn't get to eat these often enough.

Turning to follow Rukia once again, Byakuya accidentally ran into Renji.

"...Pardon me, Renji," he said, slightly nervous. Then, before he knew it, his hand was reaching up to wipe away some sauce that was on Renji's cheek. He pulled away sharply once he realized what he was doing.

"You...um. There was sauce."

Renji cleared his throat quietly and nodded, eyes darting sideways. "A-Ah. Thanks." He held up a hand and glanced toward Byakuya. "Would you like one?"

Byakuya forced a smile.

"Ah, no. I am quite alright. Rukia ordered some noodles for me." There was an awkward silence as they continued to stand there.

"We should," Byakuya started suddenly. "We should join them." He motioned over to the table where the rest of the party was at.

Renji shifted slightly, eyes darting to the side. "We should...do that then. Yeah."

Coughing slightly, Renji made his way past Byakuya to the table to have a seat.

As Renji slipped past him, Byakuya unconsciously reached out and touched Renji's braid, feeling it slide through his fingers.

His eyes widened. Why did he do that?

Renji turned around as he felt his braid drop back against his back, gazing at Byakuya silently. His lips twitched up into a small, quick little smile before he turned around again to continue heading back to the table.

Byakuya refused to meet Renji's eyes as he turned around, and waited until Renji was actually seated at the table before making his way there.
