Memed again: Ten Things I've Done (That You Probably Haven't)
One of the better LJ memes is doing the rounds again: last time I did this was in June 2008. Not done as a form of one-upmanship, but here goes anyway.
1. I have met a Beatle. It was not a pleasant experience.
2. Had the company of all five Spice Girls for eleven hours. Victoria Beckham was the most down-to-earth.
3. Been inside the Oval Office in the White House, not something that was ever part of the pre-9/11 tour. I also met Bill Clinton's dog Buddy.
4. Asked Rachel Weisz out on a date (circa The Mummy). She said no, but in the nicest possible way.
5. For three whole minutes I was on stage with Chuck Berry during a UK gig.
6. Been inside Hiroshima's 'A-Bomb Dome', on my own at midnight.
7. Shaken the hand of a Nobel Peace Prize winner.
8. Driven across Morocco's Atlas mountains in a clapped-out Citroen 2CV with bull-horns strapped to the hood and two stoned female American musicians in the back.
9. Ridden on horseback from the pyramids at Giza to the stepped pyramid at Saqqara.
10. Flew 200 miles off the North Pole on the polar route from London to Tokyo. At that point I was also on the flight deck of a 747 at 40,000ft; I later realised this meant that for about half an hour I was probably the most northerly lifeform on the planet, with the entire human race and all life on Earth beneath my feet.
