Miles-blogging #3: fatherhood in a ragga stylee

A belated Happy Birthday to drplokta and anyone else I may have missed in the last couple of weeks.

I now have several days in which I'll have decent access to the internet (ie. home wifi in Bangkok) before we disappear south again, where we probably won't be wired up until next February when we'll be moving to Hua Hin properly.

In the meantime we've shelled out some significant cash on home improvements to the place we've bought there: a decent fence around the garden, curtains and blinds, and a Thai-style outdoor kitchen which we've had built. Still plenty to do but it's starting to look habitable, and it's cost a fraction of the hit my wallet would have taken if I'd had all this done in Rip-Off Britain.

Sprog's Masterclass: Miles was one month old yesterday. He's put on a full kilo in the last few weeks as he drinks so much milk, and at his check-up today he was pronounced fine and healthy. Most of the time he's very manageable indeed, but around 6-8pm every day he gets very irritable and cries no matter what you do for him. It's probably colic. He's also learning to tell day from night and is gradually adjusting his sleep accordingly, which comes as something of a relief.

We fill the days with Bob Marley, mostly, plus The Beatles and Carabao. Miles definitely responds to music: you can see his mood change as he gets all Lively Up Yourself.
