T H A N K  Y O U  so much for all the comments of support after mum's death on Saturday. It means a great deal.

Her funeral is not likely to be until around 8 October. This means yet more life re-arranging: I'll now not be able to do the CELTA teaching course in Bangkok because the date of the funeral means I would miss most of the first week of the course. Because of the high workload, the course director reckons I would always be trying to catch up and never actually doing so. Doing the course in November instead sounded like an option at first, but the course dates don't match my time off in November and I would also have to go ten hours drive north to Chiang Mai to do it there for a month. No can do. It's now going to have to wait until some time next year when dates coincide more favourably.

Benji has been here for the last week, she went back to Bangkok last night and will return for the funeral.

And my house sale has been hanging inches close to completion for weeks, waiting for a final mortgage offer for someone further down the chain of four, in which I'm 'top'. I confess to rather dreading the whole thing collapsing, given what's going on with mortgages in this country. Now that mum's up there maybe she can kick a few arses to finally get it done, and Benji and I can start moving forward with our lives.
