Days like this are thankfully few and far between

And they always happen on a Friday or Saturday. On top of having far too many better things to do, I've also been having one of those periodic 'dataclypse' days - you know, something like a major system crash, connectivity hell, etc. This morning saw the complete disappearance of my entire address book from my MacBook while it was syncing with my iPhone. Can't figure out why, everything gone, just... lost, wiped. I have no idea how to get them back, and that's over 500 people.

I've managed to retrieve many details (but nowhere near all) from a rather out-of-date back-up, but that one didn't include all mailing addresses, and most frequently-used phone numbers I've been able to retrieve from the SIM of my old Motorola phone. I'll also be checking out FaceBook for contact details there.

Please, if you're at least fairly sure I previously had your e-mail and mailing addresses - and you'd still like me to have them - the quickest way to recover this lost data may be to either e-mail me, or include them in a comment here, or direct me to a friends-locked page where you keep them (mine are here). All comments screened for safety then deleted. Thanks.

Right. I'm off to buy a new cable and yet another bloody memory stick. Grrr.
