HARRY? HARRY KEWELL?

AUSTRALIA 1 - NETHERLANDS 1

I went to my uncle's house in Wetherill Park to watch the game last night between Australia and the Netherlands. I think the injection of Harry Kewell late in the game would have seen another Australian goal. The Netherlands were looking average late in the game when their defence were relying too much on using their goalkeeper Edwin Vandersar as an 11th field player. They continually passed back to him and put him under pressure which began to show very late in the game. If Kewell was injected into the game I believe it was goal time for Australia and a win for our nation.  It was smart of Gus Hiddink however to leave Kewell on the bench due to the high intensity and ferocity of the game. Friendly? I don't think so. If the game was scored on injuries, Australia won 3-0. We were pretty sloppy with our challenges. There is no doubt if Kewell was put in the mix that the Netherlands would have went after him, studs up. I think Kewell will play a big role in our next warm up match against Liechtenstein on thursday. Hiddink stated, "It is a game where players coming off injuries can show their stuff." That has Harry written all over it.

Keep on running Harry. All the way to Germany!

If Mark Schwarzer wasn't in goal for us we would have lost by 3 goals atleast. He was a brickwall back there for us, saving shots with his feet! He was a robot programmed to "stop any round objects from passing him into the net." There was a slight glitch in his programming however as the Netherlands scored once. All credit to our goalkeeper however! Man of the Match for sure!

You Freak! Champion efforts brutha.

Tucks signing off.
