Announcing Gentle & Magnificent The Chronicles of Narnia Series Re-read.
So it's been awhile, eh? How long did you say it was since you re-read the series? What??? That long?!?!?! Wow! You've really been letting your fandom go, you know! The Shame!
THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO MAKE UP FOR THAT!
So, since we're all a little behind in our re-reads and have been letting our fandom flame die down just a teeny weeny bit, we're going to stage a re-read of all of the Narnia books, beginning with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe on Sunday February 8th, 2009! *applause*
Epiphany anyone? Notice something new? Change your mind about something? Formed a sudden love for Eustace that you never felt before? Share it with us in the discussion thread here! We'd love to hear what you think now that you've all read the books for the 100th time. Join us in our re-read and discussions today!
We'll be reading one chapter every two days, starting at 12:01 AM of the first day and ending at 11:59 PM of the second day, I will start every post with General discussion about the chapter and quotes from it and you can argue/debate etc about whatever aspect of it that you like.
Re-read Schedule:
The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe Starts Feb. 8th
Prince Caspian: Starts March 16th.
Voyage of the Dawn Treader Starts April 18th
The Silver Chair Starts May 19th
The Horse and His Boy June 20th
The Magician's Nephew Starts July 21th
The Last Battle Starts August 22th
If you don't have time to read along, but you've read the book before and have some thoughts, feel free to jump in. Similarly, if you're catching up late to the party or whatever, you are more than welcome to post in the older threads. I'm doing one new chapter every couple of days, and we're definitely still at the point now where you could catch up on the book in an hour or so.
If you don't want to read one of the books again or discuss it for some reason, but you do want to read some other, that's cool too, just jump in whenever.
