This guy has been around since 1999, but I only 'discovered' him this year. To be honest his own albums vary from sucky to mediocre, but let him sing a cover and you get heartwrenching stuff.

On a related note, it must suck to be Leonord Cohen.
He rights the most amazing songs, but noone notices until they get performed by someone who can actually sing.
