"Ethical advancement is linked to quality of life. " aka the Kyoto problem: America refused to enforce this because third world countries didn't. But while we (and the US) can afford to pay attention to the environment, people in third world countries often depend on unecological measures for their very lives...

As far as euthanasia is concerned: strongly okay for people who are able of lawful consent (non-demented adults), but I must say I have HUGE question marks when it comes to kids (we can discuss about their age) and demented adults. If the kid's/demented's person suffering is physical in nature, and this has to be confirmed by independent doctors (like is now the case for adult euthanasia), AND the kid/demented person is still able to somehow show their consent, it should be possible.

However, I think that the kid/demented person should definitely have a say in this, especially when the reason for the euthanasia is not physical pain. Especially with demented persons I'm afraid that the system could be abused to get rid of inconvenient old relatives. It's not because someone is completely demented, that this person is necessarily suffering - i've known people with grave althzeimer, who didn't recognise anyone anymore but definitely seemed to enjoy their lives. So unless the demented person gave his consent before she was too demented to do so, I think euthanasia should be forbidden.

Ah, so that's why the US didn't want the Kyoto-thingy... makes them even more stupid, imo :(

But yeah, what do you expect from a nation where the president veto's a law *against* torture...

re "America refused..." That may have been the reason stated, but the real reason is cause it costs businesses most of their profits to go green. Obviously.

re your arguments for being pro-choice (too bad the troll will never understand the difference between that and pro-abortion), you rock! Look at the cute lawyer stomp the troll! Stomp! Stomp!
