With the "modern dance" that I was exposed to when I was dating Joyce, I saw an art form that did not exist at ALL outside the boundaries of formal education. No one can just say, "I'm going to be a "modern dancer", where is my shoes?". It doesn't work that way, and what I got out of the pieces I saw through Joyce, and the work she did with me, was that "modern dance" was mediocre, contrived, and elitist.Which is what Sam and I were speaking about Friday night at the party, and why I brought it up in the first place (I didn't know anyone else who had been exposed to it felt the same way, honestly). If art is subjective, how can you grade it the same as you grade Math? It's simply ridiculous, in my opinion, to even attempt to do so.

Last but not least, kid art is my favorite form of artist impression, because it is the purest you will ever find. All the reasons why I listed above.

See, I don't think art can truly be taught in a school setting. I flunked art class in high school, by the way, because I wouldn't follow the rules, haha. I hate Mr. Goodnight (was he still there when you went to SSHS?).
