More adorableness with The Lady Friend
Hello again, Livejournal.
So, as some of you may know, I like this place better than Facebook. I find it more conducive to real, rich human interaction. Which is an ironic thing to say, because nothing is so conducive to real, rich human interaction as, you know, going out and being an engaged member of your community.
Which, there's that, too. But there's something about ElJay. So here I am.
Anyway, as some of you may also know, for the past few months I have been seeing a pretty awesome Lady Friend. Things are really deeply good between us, and sometimes you just want to share the Special Moments, the way people share pictures of their kids. Perhaps this will melt your heart and give you a warm fuzzy feeling the way it did me. Or perhaps you don't care. Anyway.
OK, so the thing is, she works in a GM plant, where things are noisy all the time. And so she needs white noise to sleep. So she turns on the fan next to our bed before we go to sleep every night. The other night it was raining, and I prevailed upon her to leave the fan off so we could listen to the rain. For awhile.
Then last night, when she turned the fan on, we had this exchange:
Lynn: Do you really hate the fan?
Me: I wouldn't say I hate it; I just prefer it off.
Lynn: But it's so peaceful.
Me: See, I think the silence is peaceful.
Lynn: Maybe we should break up.
Me: Awww. I don't want to break up over a fan.
Lynn: Good. Then shut up about it.
Me: I want to break up over what a bitch you are.
Lynn: That's legit.

See, sometimes you just know when you've got a good thing going.
