It'll be fun, they said.
Fun. Hah. Fun is not being sat on the throne, having one of the lights something in the bathroom short out and then trip the breaker, making a sound not unlike a star wars laser blast, near giving me a heart attack, and leaving me in complete darkness, midst throne.
However, I suspect I know what it is - the bathroom is fitted with one of
these cabinets and I've never been particularly convinced with the wiring to the light in the right hand door. The cable is too long, and whoever fitted it made it fit by cutting through the exterior insulation. Over time, it seems likely that the interior cable insulation has worn or degraded to the point where it is shorting. I have found
the instructions so it looks like I will be either rectifying the wiring, or removing that light fitting. The wiring still needs looking at.
Wrong. It was the extractor fan. I know this because I have just disconnected the lamps in the bathroom mirror. Still tripping. I removed two out of the thee ceiling lights, and still the fan popped and tripped. The good news is that I can now use the toilet and see what I am doing. The bad news is that showering is not going to be a thing until I rectify the situation.
I might have a cheeky shower at the mothership tomorrow afternoon though.
I've made contact with an electrician I have used before. Hopefully Rob will come to my rescue. The good news is that monday is payday.
Other news: it is cold and miserable today.
