In my opinion, it could be a good thing for the cohesiveness of the United Kingdom that the Scottish National Party (who last year spearheaded a referendum in Scotland on Scottish independence from the UK) just increased its number of seats in the Westminster Parliament from just 6 to a whopping 56 seats. Now the Scottish people can feel that they have a significant place at the table in Westminster decision-making. It would be great if, through dialogue with their SNP counterparts, the Conservatives who won the election could use this opportunity to build British unity!
