Geez, it's funny the way things work out sometimes. It's like...well, to use a cliche, with people sometimes it's like you wanna put all your eggs in one basket. You think that you've got a person completely pegged, and that you've totally figured out how they fit into your life and vice versa. But of course, one of the main differences between people and baskets is that you can't just look at a person and automatically know everything about them and what they're like. I guess life'd be boring if you could, but it sure can make things pretty hard on you. People that you thought would always be there just up and leave in the blink of an eye. But on the other hand, sometimes you realize that someone who'd always just been right in front of you was the...uh...right basket? I dunno exactly what I'm trying to say here.

And then, some things that suck...in retrospect, they weren't really that bad. A lot of the crappy stuff we go through gets us to the places we are now, y'know? Well, I say that assuming that place is actually a good one. For me, I think it is. And if a couple of things had happened differently, I don't know if I'd be able to say the same for wherever I might be.

Yeah, obviously I'm no philosopher. I guess really what I mean, when it comes down to it, is that I'm optimistic about this year. It's gotten off to a good start. Even if the weather sucks. I'm freezing my ass off over here.

Quick recap on the holidays since I procrastinated for so long on writing anything about them: Christmas was really good. Thanks so much to everybody who gave me presents, they were all awesome. New Year's we didn't really do anything for, just stayed in and watched the ball drop. And then some guy jumped a volcano on a motorcycle. On TV, I mean.

And that's about it for now, I guess. I think I get boring in the winter. The cold ruins most of my urges for wacky hijinx. Not that I wouldn't be up to...doing something. I don't know, I don't have any ideas. But the instant one of you has something cool to do, well, you know the man to call.
