Due South

I exercise to Due South.

This was not intentional but simply the way it worked out.

So SuziQ and I have gotten back on the exercise wagon which I will remain faithfully on for the remainder of my life and because of my tremendous intentions at good behavior I will no doubt be a size 0 by the end of the month. Positive thinking. Positive thinking.

Now this may sound like a totally unrelated fact but I assure you it is not. I do not own an MP3 player. Yes, I know. Behind the times. Out of touch with the modern age. Sad but true.

What this means is that I have three choices for music during my thirty minute stagger through the polluted morning air. I could carry a CD player and ignore it as it skips randomly through the middle of songs. I could carry a walkman and really revisit my childhood. ummm, no. Or I could use my phone.

My darling phone that has been through abuse such as have inspired the great tragedy of the world, is not a new phone designed to rival the MP3 players of the world, however it does have a large enough memory that I can safely store about five songs on it which I loaded in the first couple days that I owned the phone and probably couldn't remember how to change out if my life depended on it. My sanity might depend on it here in the near future but I'm not to that point yet.

So five songs. The other interesting thing about my phone is that the only way you can get it to go from one song to the next is to manually change it. If not it will repeat the same song over and over ad nauseam. Fun hu?

So here is the way this works ... and I'm getting to the Due South point here real quick so bear with me ... It takes me 10+ minutes to make it all the way around our block. So for my 30 minutes of exercise I go around 3 times. On the way down the hill I run, on the way back up I stagger, and at the top I get to change songs.

So three songs.

Here are the three songs in order.

Zebra - by John Butler Trio: If there are any of you out there who don't automatically think of Ray K when hearing this song then let me know because there is a music vid you have got to watch.

Superman - by Five for Fighting: Now here you are thinking "Wait, how is that Due South?" My response is listen to Zebra and then Superman in a row and tell me who you are thinking about. The guy wears red, just a lot more of it.

Due South Theme Song - by Northern Pikes.

And that's all I have to say on that subject. :)
