Tomorrow morning I leave for Stratford. I'll be there until very late Friday night. I'm gonna tour Oxford, then go see "King Lear" and "Hamlet" as performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company. Both plays are rumored to be four hours long. Luckily, I have all this mescaline.
When I get back, I'm gonna meet up with my neighbor Garrett "The Yellow Dart" Connors and his sister for pints. Hopefully I'll get his underage heinie sufficiently fitshaced.
I just got back from a sweet concert at the Astoria. !!! ("chk chk chk"). A group from Baltimore named The Oxes. They were great. More of that 'atonal' stuff that's so hip these days. Fugazi much? I talked to one of the guitarists after the set. We knew some of the same places in Maryland. Then he left to make out with some British chick and I had to stop asking him about alternate tunings.
The second band was miserable. They were called "Spectrum". Strike one. They played electroclash. Strike two. Their singer couldn't. And they're out of there.
Then seven skinny white American guys pranced on stage and began to flip out. The flipping out was mirthsome and merry. There wasn't a lot of room to dance, so I just did that hip-sway thing that I do at Verbatim shows. They're this uber-sleazy dance rock band. Strobe lights and what-not. I had a time.
I've gotta go to bed now. We're having a waffle breakfast tomorrow, then bus ride outta town. I'll have pictures and stuff like that when I return.
Here's my favorite picture from the wedding that I got today:
