Road trips and movies

I have watched 4 movies in the past two days. Last night was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which I must say was still damn entertaining after all these years. The other movie of yesterday was Kubrick's Fear and Desire, which I drove 1.5 hours to Rochester to see. Dr. Greiff is teaching his Kubrick class again, which means his class went to go see it, and he was kind enough to let me tag along and drive. Trying to follow his wife in traffic was quite awful, but I enjoyed the movie. It's a rather crappy movie, but it's interesting, and every now and then you see a trace of something that later developed into Kubrick.
And today was School of Rock (which was quite entertaining), and Big Fish. I liked Big Fish, but I can't say I'm as enamored with it as are all my friends...it just took me far too long to develop any emotional attachment to anything in the movie. All in all though, it was good.
Now to start reading Wieland again...160 pages to go.
