A portal opened and Jessica stepped out onto a Manhattan rooftop at night. At first she wasn't sure where this Ben Reilly guy was. Her wrist device suggested he should be right here. And then her spider-sense started blaring. She dodged with a leap backwards as a guy in a pretty weird Spider-Man costume dropped out of the sky with a huge man below him to cushion the landing.

"Sorry about that, lady," Ben said. "No time to talk. It's a Kingpinpalooza and I seem to be the special guest act!"

"Ben Reilly?" Jessica checked.

[iguessiamaclone]

Ben had been ready to fire a web and swing up to rejoin the battle, but that stopped him cold. "No?"

[craftyladyparts]

"Shut up, yes you are, listen fast," Jessica said. "I'm a Spider from an alternate world. We're being hunted across dimensions. The people who want to eat us - yes, I said eat - also want to set up shop in Fandom to help them conquer all reality."

[iguessiamaclone]

"You just said about eight things that I didn't want to hear," Ben said. "You're really from Fandom? I guess that explains that."

"Yeah. And I think the Kingpins who just jumped off that roof so they can squash us are helping the bad guys hunting us," Jessica said.

[iguessiamaclone]

"What makes you say that?" Ben said, dodging as the first Kingpin hit the roof... and broke through it.

[craftyladyparts]

"Call it a hunch," Jessica said while kicking another in the face as he hit the roof. "You in or what?"

[iguessiamaclone]

"Guess it can't hurt to see the old place," Ben said. Dodging and webbing feet as that second Kingpin recovered and rushed him. "Just need five minutes to clean these guys up."

Just then, another portal - this one glowing red - opened up. A woman in a black dress dove out of it, landing just a couple rooftops away.

"I don't recognize her," Ben said. "But I'm guessing she has something to do with the Kingpins here."

[craftyladyparts]

"Seems like a safe bet," Jessica said as the woman approached. "We should go. Now."

[iguessiamaclone]

"I kind of want to see what we're up against first," Ben said. "Hey, lady! I think you've dropped some trash. I'm gonna have to bring you in for littering!"

"A pair of Totems," the woman said while a Kingpin moved to her side. "What luck. And one of you is so young and succulent. Fisk, retrieve her while your mistress Verna deals with the older meat."

[iguessiamaclone]

"Which one of us is supposed to be more offended by that?" Ben asked as he fired a pair of impact webbing pellets at Verna that she dodged easily.
