Peter had a girlfriend to interview, a family to observe, and a lot of worrying to do about meeting his girlfriend's family. "They like to work together. This way, Claude can help out with Arsenal's classes, or he can make her model stuff for him."

"That's really sweet. It's nice that they share interests to that degree," Peter said. "And I'm not just saying that because they can apparently beat me up."

"So, this is it? Nice looking place."

"Yup." Zero gestured to the sign over the door. "Boot by Claude Shi." She opened the door, causing a bell to chime.

A pretty black-haired woman sitting behind the counter said, "Skankabelle!" and jumped up. Oh, look at that, she's expecting. She hugged Zero and said, "So, this is your boy, then?"

"Er, yeah, Arsenal, this is Peter. Peter, my sister. Arsenal." Zero addressed Arsenal's stomach. "Hello, little stowaway."

"Hi. It's really nice to meet you," Peter said not at all nervously.

"'Little stowaway'?" Peter had to chuckle at that.

"Go get your dress. I'll be okay," Peter said hopefully.

"You're not going to break my little sister's heart, are you? Go off to college and never call her again, somethin' like that?"

"No. She'll actually be at college before I am, and I'm very good at keeping in touch. You can ask my aunt, I call her every week," Peter said.

Peter smiled. "She might find it a little strange to have my girlfriend's sister checking up on me, but she's used to strange by now."

"Seriously, though, I really like Zero. I wouldn't do anything to hurt her. And that includes being out of touch. Your family will probably be sick of me calling when she's back here for the summer."

"Parker. From New York City." Couldn't hurt to give extra information, right?

"Yeah? We lived in New York City for a bit according to one version of our cracked-out continuity, WTF, Van Meter?. When Zero was a baby."
