Today I had to attend a day long session of "EO and Accountable and Ethical decision making in the WA Public Sector".
Basically it's 8 hours of being taught common dog fuck and being treated like primary school kids by ex teachers/HR experts who have their own consultancy firms.
The actual content could be delivered to a half-brain-dead field of grown ups in one hour, so it was padded out with 7 hours of primary school antics by the ex teachers.
"OK, so who can tell me what ethics are ?.." and slowly a hand would go up.. "standards of behaviour miss?" .. "Yesss..good, anything else ?"... another hand goes up.. "The boy in the back row.", .."morals miss? .."Good, good..what else"..and another hand goes up and so on and so on... the most irritating form of teaching imaginable. You can really overdo that participation stuff.
Trouble is a lot of the public servants attending have particularly boring jobs and this was their big day out so they played happily into the teachers hands.
I was ready to scream and run away but Monty Python saved me.. "And what also floats in water?" .. "very small rocks?"
Ended up towards the end of the day crying torrents of tears when the suppressed giggles kicked in between meself and a couple of women I clicked with.
It reminded me why I left school at 15.. I was SO FUCKING BORED!
