Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Hello Kiddies,

Here's moments in life when you feel everything is in sync. The universe offers up opportunities, doors open, possibilities are endless. The odds are on our side, so we hedge our bets and go for it. You put yourself out there, and feel the embrace. It's like you're a boxer who's outclassing his opponent. You land your blows, weave and bob, and are ahead on the scorecards without breaking a sweat. This is what we trained for, spent all that time mentally and physically preparing, to cruise to victory and take advantage of what life is offering us.

Not really. Life is a very funny thing and a far more formidable opponent than we give it credit for. Because you see as easily as they open, doors can shut and slam in your face. Opportunities crumble and slip through your fingers. You put yourself out there and get thrown back. It's the middle rounds, and your sure fire blow misses. A glancing blow opens up a small cut above your eye that sure enough leaves you vulnerable. The right shot may knock you right out. Still feel like hedging that bet? Will you blink in the face of the dealer's stoic smile? You retreat to your corner where the trainer salves your cut and gets the swelling down, reminds you of your strategy. What did you think this was gonna be easy? Did you think you were just gonna coast to victory? Sorry smiley, you know better than that. That door's open but you gotta get there first. That blow hurt more than you thought but you can't think about it. This is what you trained for. This is where we find out if you got it. It's gonna be a long few rounds.

Ring the bell.
