Sweet Revenge! 20 Years Later

Hello Kiddies,

We'll take a break from the angsty slog that's been so prevalent here in the HSB for some happy thoughts, and nothing makes happy like our four favorite letters! Today's events are better left to forgotten history, so let's share a little of our own personal KISStory!. In 1992, just before the release of their "Revenge" album, KISS embarked on a mini 'club tour' playing small clubs in a few select cities. The Last night on the tour was at a tiny little shithole club in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn called 'The Warehouse' which of course was better known as the legendary L'Amours.

For all that is said about this band being nothing but make up and flash, this show proved exceedingly otherwise. When I think of the countless times I have seen the bombs and pyro go off in huge arenas. The pure spectacle that KISS is known for, provides an interesting contrast for this little gig. The then-unmasked KISS doing a bare bones show in this tiny little club with a few hundred die-hard KISS Army Soldiers crammed together like fucking sardines was probably one of the best KISS concert experiences I ever had in my life. I went with my friend Del, and we just went abso fucking nuts! I was floating on the crowd and while significantly smaller than I am now, I still fought my way up front to bang with the best of 'em. As I listen to the bootleg of that show, and now through the miracle of You Tube can actually watch clips barely remembered in an adrenaline fueled sweaty rage. I look back on some of my best KISS Army Battle Scars with pride.
