Mr. Rock & Roll Detective

Hello Kiddies,

2010 marks the 20th Anniversary of the release of "The Adventures of Ford Fairlane," starring Andrew Dice Clay, directed by Renny Harlin for 20th Century Fox. A cult classic today on home video, with fans around the world, the film was based on stories written by Rex Weiner about a detective with an attitude working in the music business.

I would be extremely remiss if I didn't mention this, one of my all-time favorite films and a truly underrated masterpiece. The creator of the character and author of the original stories, stands by them and even is rumored to be penning a sequel. The movie of course was panned at the time, mostly because of backlash against it's star the fabulously controversial Andrew 'Dice' Clay. Clay of course really put himself into that character and made it his own and Robert Englund stole the movie with his hilarious take on an English hit man. For me, this is probably one of my all time fave comedies and all time fave films period. Two decades later, it's somewhat dated, but retains a charm.
