My day in a nutshell...

Well, I wanted to enjoy a warm, sunny, yet comfortable Saturday today and I had only the vaguest of ideas on what do for such a day like this. Originally, I had planned to do more fannish things this weekend like attend last night's PSFS meeting and I almost wanted to see what I could do to help out with the Philcon Committee Meeting today (but since I've yet to receive official word on that situation, I've decided to back out of that quagmire...check an earlier f-locked post for vague notions toward such an idea...)

Instead, last night was mostly devoted to the Philadelphia Anime Meetup and hanging out with two new members who I now forget their names (oh well, I resign myself to be "Slacker Mod"). Speaking of which mib24601 is planning a little video meet get together at his new digs in the Spring Garden section of Philadelphia for next Saturday (announcement later...)

So, what did I do today? Well, after going to my credit union's Hunting Park branch to withdraw some money, I went to the Tastykake Thrift Shop up the street from there. I got three boxes of edible goodness for less than $5. It was at this point I still sorta had leanings from what I mentioned above, but instead I decided to take the 48 bus to Center City and hang a little around Reading Terminal Market and the Gallery at Market East instead...

It was a good thing I went to Reading Terminal because I was incredibly hungry and hadn't eaten anything by that time at around 2PM. I first thought I could try Delilah's Soul Food, but the line was a little too slow for my tastes. Instead, I decided to sit down at my new favorite comfort food eatery, the Dutch Eating Place--you should try their hot apple dumplings...delicious!

So, after that was a stroll through the Gallery and the first stop was Suncoast. Since we're watching "Speed Grapher" for SOS Anime Club, I picked up a used copy of the third DVD--yeah, I pitched the darn thing and I don't own the whole series yet...

And this is to make erinfinnegan happy, but I did pick up a copy of the second (latest) issue of Otaku USA magazine at the Borders Express right next door...$9.99+tax well spent...

So, what now? Well, I'm home after a leisurely day in the city. I will probably read the new Otaku USA issue and watch the included DVD, but other than that, I think tomorrow is a lunch date with dad...we'll see...

Right now, I'm tired and pooped. It was nice to get out in the fresh air...

philcon and psfs get a mention, tadaima!, otaku usa is teh awesome, anime, personal life
