Tentative personal Otakon weekend schedule...
Inasmuch as can be possibly said about being at that east-coast anime-related con that pales in comparison to a certain other convention located over on the west coast, I guess I should say that I am looking forward to attending. For some odd reason, this schedule feels totally lopsided and Friday is almost too heavy for me, but that may be a good thing as I will sorta attempt to vegetate and/or zone out as the weekend does progress. Hopefully, I will be able to spend some quality browsing/shopping time in the Dealer's Room this year. Anyway, here's my schedule...make of it what you will...
[Edit 1.5: Okay, I looked over the posted schedule again with a finer tooth comb and realized that Friday night is even odder beast than I thought. I may or may not go to the Anime Club Summit panel on 9PM Friday, but I'm sorta going to play things by ear at this point. Granted, schedules do tend to be rather fluid and change almost immediately right before any con, but I guess I have to try to stay flexible.
The good thing about being a second-year gofer is the ability to submit a schedule request via e-mail beforehand. So, I did post locations of where I will be posted at during those periods of gofering. I will note most of it is with video ops which is probably just as well and I may be bumping into Matt Pyson more often this year...I think...]
Thursday:
3PM (approx.) - Arrive in Baltimore. Yay for road trips.
7PM - Gofer orientation at the Otakafe (Charles St entrance)
Friday:
8AM - Banking Errands [Atlantic Financial FCU, 1 E Pratt Street, Baltimore, MD 21202 -- (410) 584-7474]
9AM to 11AM - Gofering (Video Ops)
11AM to ? - LARP Registration Line (I did not pre-reg this year, but since I've been talking with Ben lately, I've decided to give OtaLARP a second chance after my own personal failed first attempt two years ago...)
3PM - Red Apple Productions (Panel 3)
4PM - LARP Orientation/Startup Meeting
5PM - DAS Meetup/Photo Shoot/Dinner @ Chipotle
6PM to 8PM - Gofering (Video Ops)
9PM to 10PM - Anime Club Summit & FAQ
9PM to 10PM - Megatokyo (Panel 4)
9PM to 11:30PM - AMV Contest Screening (Main Events)
9PM to 11:59PM - Otaku Generation/Podcasting (Workshop 1)
[Why do I have myself scheduled for four events during the 9PM hour? Well, in reality, I'm not bothering on going to two of them. Can you guess which one?
Speaking of which, I really hope I do get a good seat this year. Nope, I'm not an AMV creator so obviously no reserved seating for me. But fer chrissakes, some of my best friends are AMV creators! I like to think I can learn this sort of thing through osmosis...yeah, right... :-P ]
