GENDER: Male; both physically and mentally.
APPEARANCE: Here is a photo.

As for appearances, Waka wears a pretty flashy outfit consisting of a helmet with pink wings descending from it, a pink shirt with red pom-poms, purple hakama, white obi, and very tall, red geta. Under his helmet, Waka has long blonde hair that falls to his feet. It parts down the middle.

He has been described as beautiful; Issun refers to him as pretty boy several times and the Knowing Jewel even states that nobody is sure if he is even a 'he'. (So, it's okay to totally mistake him for a girl.)

Stature-wise, Waka is short, probably not getting past 5'4'' without his ridiculously tall geta. With them on, he's around 5'9''. He's waspishly built and looks like he might snap under heavy wind, but looks can be deceiving as Waka possesses some strong, wiry muscles under his outrageous fashion sense.

PERSONALITY & HOUSE REQUESTS:

Overview:

Waka is a complicated individual with many facades. On one hand, he is an unrepentant flirt with a penchant for affectionate French terms and teases the heroes relentlessly. On the other hand, he is also a merciless swordsman who is as brutal with his words as he is with his sword techniques.

It would be easiest to start with what the player sees first: Waka, the flashy and mysterious prophet. He likes to make an entrance, often from some previously hidden, high perch. He answers the heroes questions with ambiguity, at best. It's very hard to tell what side he is on as he always seems to have a hidden agenda. He confronts the heroes and confounds them with his at first friendly, lackadaisical attitude, bantering with Issun and making flirty remarks to Amaterasu.

But as both player and the heroes figure out, this guy can also be quite brutal. He's calm, hardly letting his true emotions slip out When Issun makes a comment that questions Waka's actions, Waka only responds with silence. He actively tries to cultivate an air of aloofness with others. He works alone and even the members of his Tao Troopers hardly see him. He is callous to death; much to Issun's chagrin, he hardly reacts to Queen Himiko's death. He even chastises Issun for getting angry with him about it. But, it is implied when Amaterasu talks to the people at the Palace, that Waka did care deeply for Himiko and didn't want to reveal to the others his guilt for her death.

Guilt plays a pivotal role in Waka's character. He often tries to shoulder all the responsibility and is often harsh on himself, even for things that were out of his control. It's also fueled his resolve, making him a determined individual. He will do whatever it takes to both repay Amaterasu's kindness and avenge the slaughtering of the Celestials. While he does try to portray himself as an ambiguous person, Waka is deeply loyal and tries his best to protect others. He believes in resolve and finishing things he's responsible for, even to the point of alienating others.

Despite Waka's somewhat callous nature, he is a friendly, eccentric person who is resolved to do whatever it takes to accomplish his goals.

House Requests:

- First House: Slytherin: Why Slytherin if Waka essentially works for what is the Big Good of the universe? Simple; 'these cunning folk use any means to achieve their ends.' The mantra of the Slytherin house applies aptly to Waka, who isn't above letting others die to fulfill a prophecy for what he perceives to be the greater good. (Letting Kurow sacrifice himself to rid of Akuro.)

He'll trick his way into having other do what he needs through riddles or mysterious schemes. Waka is crafty and coldly logical about people, despite his appearance suggesting otherwise. He is quick to point out flaws and other people's lack of determination. However, he is just as quick to judge himself for perceived failure and takes any and all failure very harshly.

Waka's entire civilization is relateable to the Slytherin ideal of distaste for Muggles. From a conversation with a Celestial on the Ark of Yamato, one learns that the Moon Tribe acted as deciders for other races due to their gift of prophesy. It's implied that the tragedy with the Ark was a plan devised by them to have the world run along a Fate they foretold and that they had little regard for anyone else that wasn't from the Moon Tribe and was higher-up on the social hierachy, too.

Despite his jovial tone, Waka has a bit of arrogance about him. No-one can do what he does, he thinks, and will often try to pursue dangerous goals alone while letting others handle the more good-natured tasks, such as when he lets Amaterasu revive the world, while he planned for Himiko's eventual demise and looked for the Ark where Yami laid in wait.

- Second House:  Gryffindor : Yet, Waka could also belong quite well in Gryffindor. Waka faces danger head-on and never lets his fear override what he knows he has to do. Determination is one of the defining points of his characacter: "Outcome is secondary. Resolve determines the worth of your actions." He never backs down from a fight and little fazes his cheerful demeanor.

He is fiercely protective of those that he calls friends, and while may be unconcerned with individuals, does try to accomplish goals that are good for everyone.

COMMUTER DETAILS: Untapped; Waka doesn't like Dark Lords, nope.

POSITION: Student; Fifth-Year.

ORIENTATION: Unknown. While Waka does make some flirtatious comments to Amaterasu, it isn't clear whether he means them in a deeper context or is simply trolling. Besides the ambiguous relationship with Amaterasu, Waka isn't seen interacting with characters in anything other than his usual cryptic self and even then, he doesn't interact with many characters other than Amaterasu, Issun, and Himiko.

Abe does comment that Waka hardly talks to the Tao Troopers under his command, so an argument can be made that Waka doesn't like to deepen relationships past anything considered necessary, unless you are someone incredibly important to him.

ABILITIES & POWERS:

One of Waka's most apparent abilities is his ability to tell the future. His prophecies tend to be always correct. However, there are some restrictions on this ability. He (usually) can only tell the future at a couple days ahead, maybe a week at most. Very rarely (like in Armageddon type situations) he'll get a prophecy that can span centuries. This ability will be translated in high magical aptitude for Divination.

Waka's other ability, Teleporting, relies on a mystical Moon Tribe item. Since he'll be without this artifact, he'll have to relearn it through mastering Apparating.

Physically, Waka is an adept swordsman. Of course, his ability to use swords in Hogwarts will depend if he can find or magic himself up a katana. With Western-styled swords, his proficiency and speed will drop some until he gets better practice with it.

WAND:

Wood Type: Yew - [Yew wands are among the rarer kinds, and their ideal matches are likewise unusual, and occasionally notorious. The wand of yew is reputed to endow its possessor with the power of life and death, which might, of course, be said of all wands; and yet yew retains a particularly dark and fearsome reputation in the spheres of duelling and all curses. However, it is untrue to say (as those unlearned in wandlore often do) that those who use yew wands are more likely to be attracted to the Dark Arts than another. The witch or wizard best suited to a yew wand might equally prove a fierce protector of others. Wands hewn from these most long-lived trees have been found in the possession of heroes quite as often as of villains. Where wizards have been buried with wands of yew, the wand generally sprouts into a tree guarding the dead owner’s grave. What is certain, in my experience, is that the yew wand never chooses either a mediocre or a timid owner.]

The Yew wood type would be a perfect match for Waka because it is an 'unusual' wand and Waka is certainly an unusual individual that hardly shies away from any opportunity to be theatric. Private as he is with his own matters, Waka doesn't have a timid bone in his body.

Power over life and death is nothing new to the prophet; he often had a hand in pushing the fates of individuals in life and death struggles. Not to mention that he created a being so it could simply die and take a great evil with it. Waka isn't exactly the epitome of moral integrity and that highlights the Yew's somewhat dark nature. He is definitely a fierce protector, especially of those that he holds in gratitude. He'd sacrifice himself or break whatever rules he has to make sure those close to himself are safe. The long-lived Yew will find similarity in Waka's own age of over 200 years.

Wand Core: Pillowtalk (his lightsaber hidden in his flute) - If one were to crack open Waka's wand, they would find it to be filled with a strange, green light unlike any other cores. However, Pillowtalk's properties are pretty much identical to those of Dragon Heartstring: powerful, with a strong bond to its owner and can be swayed to perform Dark Arts.

Wand Length: 12 inches - A slightly longer wand that underlies Waka's over-the-top personality.

Strengths: Divination, Defense Against the Dark Arts, with a small talent in Herbology and Dueling Spells.

Weaknesses: Charms, Potions, and Defensive Spells.

WRITING SAMPLESFIRST PERSON:

[Action/Video | Open to anyone in the Slytherin Dormitory]

[Hello, fellow draftees. You'll find your newest arrival lounging in one of the various sofas placed in the common quarters for Slytherins. He's left his hat up with his other belongings, so his floor length blonde-hair is visible.

Waka has thought of keeping it on, but sees little point in it now that he's read some of the posts and realized he's not in his own world. Disguising his hair might raise more questions than it did back in Nippon and he's not looking forward to discussing the 'why' to his eccentrities. However, he doesn't mind anyone being incredulous to his appearance--- such as wearing his school robes over his pink shirt and purple hakama, leaving his red geta by the sofa with books he has leafed through or the fact that he's now braiding his hair. He's almost finished actually and when he ties his hair neatly up, Waka smiles to the communicator.]

Bonjour, mes amis. So, this Dumbledore has gathered all of us 'righteous heroes' together, hm? [The inflection Waka gives to 'righteous heroes' implies that the speaker doesn't feel much like a righteous hero.]

I would say that it is terribly inconvenient but evil isn't supposed to be convenient. It certainly isn't timely, from my own experiences. At least, I'm gathering we are supposed to be fighting some dark force if this letter is anything to go by.

[Waka smiles.]

Anyway, my name is Waka. I just wanted to ask if anyone's seen a white wolf around the castle. I might've missed her.

Merci, mes amis. [And with that, the feed cuts out.]

THIRD PERSON:

Waka sat lounged in his chair as watched Professor Malfoy give the introduction of the lesson to the students. As the professor languidly described the talents they would learn in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, Waka thumbed the book in front of him. He read it, of course. He couldn't let himself go into a situation without some knowledge beforehand, some planning. However, now he wished he didn't read it, so he wouldn't know what kind of creature rattled the dusty cupboard in the corner of the room.

Loathe as he was to admit, he missed the Youkai he knew when he compared them to the 'demons' in the West. Youkai were frightening, sure, but they didn't elicit anything more from Waka than the most efficient way to dispose of them. These demons---

the cupboard rattled like a skeleton banging on its coffin

---they demanded more from Waka than his usual aloofness. They wanted some emotion. And that was frightening.

"Waka." Professor Malfoy's voice slid like a snake through the room and gripped Waka. His thumbing stopped and he looked directly at the professor, a half-smile on his face. Waka had thousands of smiles. This one was attentive, friendly, hidden.

"Qui, professor?"

"Can you tell us what is in this cupboard?" Lucius extended his cane toward the item. It rattled again, as if on cue.

"Mm," Waka nodded and prayed (ha, prayer. like his God is here now. she's somewhere safe, away from this.) that Lucius wouldn't ask him to perform anything, "It is a boggart."

"Very good. Now, show us how to rid of one."

"Qui." Waka stood up and walked to the cupboard, easily enough it seemed. His grip on his wand was the only indication of his trepidation; his knuckles had long gone white with the force of his grip. Thankfully, he thought as he held his wand and felt the warm current underneath hum, he had not lost Pillowtalk. It was the closest thing he had to a friend, right now.

Waka opened the lock with a swish of the wand and an incantation. That was the easy part and certainly Lucius didn't waste time just watching him recite a simple spell. He wanted to see something else.

And that something else rattled the door once more before opening to reveal, at first, a deep blackness. Then, a figure came out slowly from the shadows. A white wolf to most, her incredible red markings shimmered in Waka's eyes. Then another object that was as black as the depths of that cupboard came out. A large, clawed, metal hand with errie, glowing markings roared out of the darkness and gripped the wolf. Bones cracked. Blood spilt from the wolves mouth. It tossed and pulled at it like a child would play with a rag doll. The sound of flesh tearing ripped through the room.

Through it all, Waka's smile stayed in place. He knew it was a ruse, a trick on his fears. But his smile betrayed him this time instead of disguised him. It was if someone had slashed it on his face with a knife; it was a thin sliver of lip that held in everything it couldn't voice in a scream.

With a breath, Waka pushed the fear down and brought the charm to the tips of his fingers: "Riddikulus."

The hand evaporated into smoke and the torn wolf was changed into a plushie with an abnormally huge head and a green ball stuck on it's head with a piece of sproingy wire.

Waka was dismissed to his seat. Another student was summoned and nothing else of significance happened to the prophet during the lesson. But Waka couldn't chase the ice in his veins away for the rest of the day.
