Heya, I need a favor from you all...if you would

Hiya all!

I'm wondering if my lj friends (and real life friends!) would do me a huge favor. A friend of mine has been entered into The Celebrate Caregivers Contest, and he's very deserving of the prize. It's just an ipad, but for all he does for his family and friends, he does truly deserve to win. Not that there aren't others that are up for the prize that don't deserve it as well--but Kenny is near and dear to my heart, and has been for many years. I know what kind of a person he was, and has become--and to put it simply, he's one of the good ones.

Please vote for him by clicking HERE , and registering to vote. Thanks in advance!

My friend Ken Kelleher cares for his father, aunt, and brother. After the death of his Mother, Ken stepped in to care for everyone that she cared for. Ken’s Father moved in with him in 2009. Ken’s care for his Dad is essential in managing his Father’s diabetes. Everything from testing his blood sugar, meal preparation, doctor visits, and making sure that his Father is eating. Ken’s Aunt recently broke her hip, and even though she lives in an assisted living facility, Ken makes sure that she has everything that she needs - prescriptions, money, and handles all shopping. Ken also is guardian to his younger brother who is mentally and emotionally disabled, he lives in a group home.

I mentioned to Ken that I wanted to nominate him for this contest since he does go above and beyond every single day, he simply said, “I never really thought I've been doing anything more than what I'm supposed to be doing.” Ken is a young, single guy, he works 50+ hours a week. He takes care of 3 important members of his family - and he takes it all in stride. That to me qualifies for “above and beyond.”

On top of keeping everyone healthy and financially stable he sees his main role as a caregiver as “making sure we stay a family, and making sure none of them ever feels alone.” Ken really understands what it means to be a caregiver and deserves recognition for all of his work and his outstanding attitude.
