I feel like there is o so much to update about. I hope I don't forget something.
So. Last Saturday we celebrated Jordan's birthday. She wanted to do a cross dress party so Chris and I went to the Salvation Army and I got a suit jacket, a tie and shirt for $6.50. Whoot! Chris got...a skirt. But a week earlier. Anyway...everyone looked really awesome. Terri looked a bit like John Travolta in Pulp Fiction, and Jordan's hair was done up really cool. As for Chris in a skirt....nothing else need be said. It was a fun night. After the party Chris and I got some Fat Bob's meatball wedges--the best meatball wedges in teh universe-sauce.
The week was particularly...not the best. It kind of sucked, really. But Halloween was awesome, I got to se Xanadu with Chris. My 12:30 was canceled, so I handed in my app for the education program and Chris and I ran some errands and got a 3:30 train to NYC. The ride down was so pretty and scenic along the Hudson. AND I parallel parked in Poughkeepsie!!
We got to the city a little after five and walked from Grand Central to 44th, where we picked up our tickets. It was a charity event/show for Darfur, so we got Darfur t-shirts signed by the entire cast, wrist bands, a can of Fresca each (hehe!) and Halloween candy. The guy who organized the event was truly awesome to do what he did, at a personal cost to himself. Apparently he does an event like this every year. We chatted with him a while, he was a nice guy. Then we parted ways (about 5:45) and went to go stop in at a deli for dinner.
Chris knew this really nice little deli that had sushi and sandwiches. I got a Nesquick, Chris got a bagel, and we promptly bumped in to
Seth Rudetsky. The conversation went something like the following (not exactly like the following, but close enough...)
____________________
Chris: Hey
Seth: Hi
Chris: I love your show.
Seth: How did you recognize me, I'm on the radio!
Chris: Because you're Seth Fucking Rudetsky!
Seth: I'm not used to being recognized!
*after asking for a sandwich*
Chris: Well, good luck in your show tonight.
Seth: Thanks!

...It was a good moment.
We ate upstairs, sat for a while, and headed back to the theatre around 7. Got in line 7:30ish, went in, got to sit on stage, in the front.
The show itself was so much fun. Mary Testa and Jackie Hoffman were my favorites, but everything was just so cute and funny and fun! During one song where they're fixing up the roller disco, one of the cast members roller-painted Chris' head. The cast interacted with us a lot when they could, made faces when they had their front to us and their back to the audience. The guy who played the "muse of comedy" did handstands in front of us twice.
Before you go in they give the audience members on stage a glowstick each. At the end you get to break them open and stand up and dance during the final number. So fun. Favorite quotes include:

Hermes: Bitch, I don't know your life.
Mary Testa: [something about revealing secrets or telling the truth]
Jackie Hoffman: I peed on my dress.
Jackie Hoffman: [mid-song to a man dressed as a roman soldier...] Got condoms?
Jackie Hoffman: [mid-rant, to an innocent man sitting by himself...] And what are you supposed to be, a boring man chewing gum?!

They did lots of Halloween improv and it was made of HAPPY.
After the show we stuck around for a bit and then went back to Grand Central, only to find that the 10:20 train back to Po-town was actually a 10:10 train back to Po-town. We had to hang around Bryant Park and wait for the 11:10 train. We got back around 1, ate at the NP diner, and were back on campus before 2:30. And I went to all my Thursday classes! And had my brain leaking out my ear all day.
Friday was spent sleeping blissfully until noon, and then lunching with Jordan and Jill and paying a visit to academic advising, an issue I really really don't want to get into. Basically the progress reports are all wrong because they're on a new system. GOOD TIMES FOR ALL NEW PALTZ STUDENTS.
I spent the evening in, basically. I am going to the Met tomorrow with Jill and Mary B, and hopefully playing some awesometastic video games with Jonah on the bus. Attempting lunch with Jill and Mary around noon and going on the Egypt tour after that. I will be quiiiiite tired, I think.
When we get back from le Met I am doing dinner with Chris, for we have much to discuss (!), and hopefully LIZ!s party.
