It's been absolutely forever and a day since I posted a mix, hasn't it?
This is one I've had going on my computer for months now (under a playlist titled "YEAH SPACE!", so make of that what you will). I started it after I re-listened to The Host by Stephenie Meyer and read Across the Universe by Beth Revis. Though there's a lot of tumult and turmoil going on in both books, space itself is mostly represented as this deep and utter calming place. This isn't a fanmix for the books, just something the subject matter inspired.
I find as I listen to these songs that most would work well if they were about the ocean, too - kind of like aquarium music, I guess. I think this is rather cool, because of the whole 'we know more about outer space than we do our own oceans' thing. And because space - with the stars glittering within it - is like an ocean in the sky. (That's why the window on the cover is actually shaped like a porthole.)
I couldn't think of a title (though Ocean in the Sky probably would have been a good choice, huh?), so I Googled poems about space, and then when that amounted to naught, poems about stars. I got
"Stars" by Robert Frost. The first line of that poem is, "How countlessly they congregate," so there you are.
Oh, and these are all instrumental, by the way.
